Home/Gym & fitness marketing

Marketing for gyms that have run out of word of mouth.

I am Denise Leon. I took a single location gym from 15 members to more than 150 over three years, and they are still my client. This is the work that did it.

Who this is for

You built something people like. The problem is how few of them know it exists.

Most gym owners I meet are not bad at marketing. They are just doing it last, after coaching, after scheduling, after the equipment breaks. The Instagram account is active in bursts. The Google listing still shows the hours from two renovations ago. Someone ran ads for a while, could not tell whether they worked, and turned them off.

Meanwhile the people who would love your gym are three miles away searching "gym near me" and finding the franchise with 400 reviews.

This page is for owner operated gyms, fitness studios, CrossFit boxes and personal training businesses that are past the startup phase and ready to hand marketing to someone accountable for it.

Why gyms are different

A gym is a recurring revenue business inside a three mile radius. That changes everything.

Every member is worth years, not one sale

A member paying $150 a month who stays two years is worth thousands. That math changes what you can afford to spend to get one, and most gyms drastically underspend because they only count the first month.

Your market is a radius, not a country

You are not competing with the internet. You are competing with four other places within driving distance, which makes local search, maps and reviews the highest leverage channel you have.

Churn quietly eats the growth

Filling the top of the funnel while members leave out the bottom is expensive and demoralizing. Email and community content keep the people you already paid to acquire.

15 members to more than 150, and still my client three years later.

A single location gym with a loyal handful of members, a Google listing full of wrong information, and a social account that posted when someone remembered. We fixed the foundation, then built on it. The first measurable lift came inside three months.

What I do

The whole picture, run by one person who knows your gym.

You are not handed to a junior account manager. You work with me.

  • Google Business Profile kept current, with photos, posts, services and hours that are actually right
  • Local listings and NAP consistency across the directories that feed Google
  • Review generation built into your member journey instead of asked for at random
  • Social media strategy and production on a rhythm that does not depend on your free evenings
  • Member stories and transformation content, the single most persuasive asset a gym owns
  • Email marketing to leads who never joined and members at risk of leaving
  • Paid social and search campaigns for trials, challenges and seasonal pushes
  • Landing pages that turn a click into a booked trial rather than a bounce
  • Monthly reporting that tells you what worked in plain language

How it goes

Foundation first, then the things that scale.

Most agencies start with ads because ads are easy to sell. I start with the things that make ads worth buying.

Weeks 1 to 2

Diagnostic

I look at everything a prospective member would see: your listing, your reviews, your social, your site, your follow up. You get the findings whether or not we work together.

Weeks 2 to 8

Fix the foundation

Accurate listings everywhere, a real posting rhythm, review generation switched on, and email reconnected to the people who already walked through your door once.

Month 3 onward

Turn on demand

Paid campaigns, trial offers and seasonal pushes on top of a foundation that can actually hold them, measured against member growth rather than clicks.

Ongoing

Report, refine, repeat

A monthly call and a report that says what ran, what it produced and what changes next. No dashboards you have to interpret yourself.

Questions

Before you get in touch.

How long before a gym sees results from marketing?

On my longest running gym engagement the first measurable lift came at about three months. That is roughly the honest floor for local marketing, because listings, reviews and content all need time to accumulate before paid traffic converts well. The compounding growth came over the following years.

Do you run the ads or do I?

I do. Strategy, creative, targeting, budget management and optimization all sit with me, and you get a monthly report explaining what ran, what worked and what I am changing.

My gym is small. Is this worth it?

The client I grew tenfold had 15 members when we started, so small is not the problem. Being unwilling to invest for at least six months is the problem, because nothing meaningful happens faster than that.

Do you work with gyms outside your city?

Yes. I work remotely with clients across the United States. Understanding your local market is part of the diagnostic, and that does not require me to live in it.

Tell me about your gym.

Thirty minutes, no pitch deck. If I am not the right fit I will say so and point you somewhere better.
